Michaela & Jordan's Wedding

There are days quickly forgotten.  There are days that linger awhile.  Then there are days that last forever in our memories.

When Jordan proposed to Michaela at the end of October last year, they knew that they didn't want a long engagement so a day in May was quickly settled on.  The possibility of inclement weather didn't deter and while the preceding week was gloomy (it stormed and rained every day for a week prior!), the day turned out to be warm and sunny - pretty much the perfect autumn day.

I should mention that my duties on the day were somewhat different from the usual - I found myself often in front of the camera rather than behind it.  It was a privilege to be a bridesmaid for two close friends, being able to relax and share in their special day without having the restrictions that usually come with being on the job.

Of course, that didn't stop me from taking some fun snaps, just for memories sake.  Here are my favourites from the day.

{The Birds | aimé}

I was approached by Leah with the idea to have a photo shoot with her family (who are normally scattered in different parts of the world) as they were all back in Perth for Christmas and New Years.

After some discussion, the time and place were set but the day had a forecast of over 40 degrees.

Hyde Park was suggested and with its lovely inner city tree lined paths, provided a lovely background for the first part of the shoot.  The Birds had brought along their gorgeous doggie Bower but it seemed a shame that a leash restriction was placed on him.

With the clouds rolling in and storm weather forecast, a beach sunset was just the thing to wrap up the evening and off to Mosman Dog Beach we went.

Without the leash, there seemed a new lease of life on the group as everyone rolled up their cuffs and enjoyed wading around in the shallow waters watching the sun sink into the ocean.

Thanks for a fun session Rob, Mary, Leah, Robbie and Anna.  I hope you had as much fun as I did!

Boulangerie

In a perfect world, I would own a boulangerie.  Well, maybe just the local one round the corner where I would have the freedom to bake and create all these amazing smelling treats, both sweet and savoury.  Mmm.  My stomach rumbles in agreement.

Oh and there would be no such thing as transferable calories from food to food consumer.  Oh yeah! :)

As you can see, I have included a few examples of items I would love to have freshly baked at my place.  These images are of real life examples made by some very talented young ladies of my acquaintance.  Beautiful to behold, a delight to devour.

Since that reality is still very much a dream, I figure that capturing an image that I can visually savour at anytime may be the next best thing.

So I hope you enjoy daydreaming over these as much as I have.  (Just ensure you close your mouth as you may not want to salivate all over your screen and keyboard).
